Thrust bearing
Thrust bearing is rotary rolling element bearing which is designed for supporting axial load.
In an automobile engne it is located inside the engine block beside crank shaft. Thrust Bearing in crank shaft helps to prevent the shaft from the longitudinal movement due to the force due to the clutch plate.
Failure of thrust bearing leads to no crank no start situation. When clutch plate hits the flywheel and if the thrust bearing has worn out it pushes crank shaft which causes longitudinal motion of the crank shaft. This results in no crank no start situation.
